3,700 lm output from seven LEDs

The light section uses seven LEDs behind fixed optics. For the strongest Turbo mode the manufacturer states an output of 3,700 lm at a rated draw of 35 W. That much light goes into a wide spread, so you illuminate a workshop, a yard or the area around your tent all at once, rather than concentrating the energy into one narrow spot.

Wide beam for the whole scene

The optics have a fixed focus and spread the light into a wide cone. The emphasis is on the near and middle field, where you evenly light the whole area in front of you rather than one distant point. The range is 150 m, so the FL3 does not aim at long distances – its strength is close-range awareness of your surroundings. Fixed focus also means no time spent adjusting: the beam coverage stays the same.

Six lighting modes

The flashlight offers six modes: Low, Medium, Strong, Strobe, SOS and Turbo. The side button steps through them, and a double click jumps straight to Turbo when you need full output immediately. Lower modes suit reading a map or moving around the house during a power cut, while Strobe and SOS serve to warn others or call for help. Everything runs from a single button, so you can operate it with gloves on.

Replaceable 26650 cell and USB-C charging

Inside sits a single replaceable 26650 cell with a stated capacity of 3,500 mAh. It is not sealed into the body, so after years of charge cycles you fit a new one and the light carries on rather than ending up scrap because of a worn battery. It charges over USB-C directly in the body, with no need to remove the cell or use a separate charger; the input is 5 V / 1 A and charging takes roughly 5 h. Runtime per charge depends on the mode: about 5 h in Strong and about 3 h at full Turbo.

Compact aluminium body

The body measures 118 x 41 x 33 mm, so it fits in your palm or a pocket and you operate it one-handed. It is aluminium alloy, which draws heat away at full output and gives the light the rigidity it needs outdoors. The IP44 rating protects against rain, snow and dust, but not immersion in water. A HOT warning sits on the head, because the surface around the LEDs heats up after extended use at higher output.
